As we left Brisbane and ventured north we were amazed how beautiful the Sunshine Coast is. This area is a weekend and leisure hub for state’s capital, which misses broad beaches, the sound of pacific weaves and a refreshing swim.
One of the most popular spots is Mooloolaba. You can find there a shoreline with marvelous beaches, surf club and plenty of cafes and shops. This is also a popular harbour where you can embark on a whale watching cruise, get your PADI certification or even try your luck and snorkel next to migrating humpback whale!
The road continiues north along the coast through many towns and resorts. One of the longest and less crowded places is Sunrise Beach which is a great place to relax and enjoy sunny day.
Finally you will make it to the famous Noosa Heads. This town is a very popular holiday spot. Be prepared for a struggle with parking around the most popular places. The main boulevard – Hastings St. is a nice location for a lazy walk or shopping. The town is known for its surfing culture. You can find countless surfers testing their skills almost all day long on one of the beaches.
The true gem is a Noosa National Park where you can take an easy stroll along the coast to reach some amazing viewpoints and hidden bays. Along the track you can spot koalas above your head or dolphins swimming along the shore. The last part of the trail takes you to Alexandria Bay which is secluded and spectacular. Perfect for refreshing bath after long walk. From Hell’s Gate point you can enjoy an almost 360 degree view as it is an exposed penninsula.
Wherever you chose to stop along Sunshine Coast you will surely have an amazing time and this is just a start of the Queensland Shore!
